In short

  • Working in film since January 2008
  • Films for more than 600 companies
  • Founder of Impact Docs, a studio for documentary films with companies
  • Creator of 100 Documentaries, an independent film series on YouTube
  • Based in Stockholm, filming wherever the story is: in recent years Uganda, Brazil, Finland and the Swedish mountains

How it started

Robin worked in IT for a few years and didn’t enjoy it. In 2007 he spent his savings on a year-long TV production course, in a business everyone said was impossible to get into. In January 2008 he started working in film, and he has done it ever since.

He started on his own, then ran two production companies with different partners, FKDV and Spocks Family. Over the years he has made films for more than 600 companies.

From the outside it worked. But Robin felt he was mostly carrying out other people’s ideas, while his own curiosity got pushed aside. In 2020 he closed the company and went back to working on his own.

The film that changed the direction

In 2022 he went to Web Summit in Lisbon. One evening he ended up at a tiny vegan Italian restaurant, and two days later he was back, filming the owner, Alex, all afternoon.

When I edited it at my kitchen table in the December dark, it hit me: this is what I’m supposed to do.

That became 100 Documentaries, his independent series about people who step away from the expected path and use what they are good at to make something better. The films are free to watch on YouTube. Impact Docs grew out of the same idea: that companies need true stories too.

  • One person who answers for it.The person you talk to in the first call leads the production, and is often behind the camera.
