The starting point

Fortum was building three new fish passages in the Österdal River, following a court ruling from 2015, supplemented in 2017. The one at Spjutmo hydropower plant had to fit inside an existing facility, so it was designed like a parking garage.

Fortum had talked about the project publicly for a long time. A film could make it understood.

What we did

Instead of another announcement, the film goes into the engineering itself. It follows the construction and explains how the passage works, for the people who live by the river and want to know what is being built there.

What it became

A five-minute film on Fortum’s own YouTube channel, published in September 2023, when the passage at Spjutmo was finished after three years of construction.

Robin has an incredible sense of aesthetics and storytelling, stays agile when conditions shift, and delivers work of exceptional quality.
